Hike an easy out and back along a beautiful mountain ridge with several overlooks where you can enjoy views of the valley below.

Join Student Activities for a great local half day hike to kick off your fall weekend!  All weekend Kickoff hikes leave from the Fitness Center at noon and return by 4pm.

Hikes are limited to 6 participants so sign up as early as possible in the Fitness Center during the week preceding the trip (by 11/8).

Starting Tuesday 8/28 at 3pm Student Activities is now leading weekly trail runs!  Come join the new Recreation Coordinator Chad for a beginner friendly trail run into Fishburn park!  The scenic loop is approximately 2 miles and stops will be made at all major intersections so that no one gets lost!  Meet at the Fitness Center at 3pm.  The group will be back by 4pm.

Dr. Peirce-Cottler is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia’s Pinn Scholar School of Medicine. In addition to her work as a professor at the university, she is author and co-author of multiple scientific publications and she serves as President for The Microcirculatory Society and Chairs the NIH Modeling and Analysis of Biological Systems (MABS) Study Section. Come hear how Dr. Peirce-Cotter’s work at UVA touches each area of STEM and how she impresses her own life lessons upon her students.

Starting Wednesday 8/29 at 3pm Student Activities will be starting a weekly bike ride!  This beginner bike ride will start from the Fitness Center at 3pm and return at 4pm.  Come join the new Recreation Coordinator Chad for a fun, leg-stretcher, 2 mile bike ride through the beautiful Winding Way neighborhood!  Group size is limited to 7 and rides will be filled first come, first serve.
