Town Hall Lecture: "Environmental Justice, Food Security, and Public Health: A Future for Bethlehem
The South Side Initiative and the City of Bethlehem present the first in the 2012 series of Town Hall Lectures. Breena Holland (Associate Professor of Political Science, Lehigh University) will draw on her research to offer a vision for making Bethlehem a more thriving, environmentally equitable, and healthy community. In her lecture, “Environmental Justice, Food Security, and Public Health: A Future for Bethlehem,” she will address the problem of hunger and lack of access to fresh and affordable food, as well as health problems related to asthma and local air pollution. The lecture will also consider how citizens can pursue practical and viable solutions to these problems. The lecture takes place at 7 P.M. in Bethlehem's Town Hall (10 E. Church Street) and is free and open to the public!
