The month of April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The SAVE Project will be hosting a campus wide campaign throughout this month to bring attention to this important issue. Please show your support and take a stand against sexual violence! |
| Earth Week 2012 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
April 16 - 20. Week full of events leading up to Earth Day, 2012. Daily events on the Quad include recycling stations for books, a tie-dye booth, fundraiser with prizes, recycled art contest. Other events include presentations/seminars, reptile show, and the movie "An Inconvenient Truth". Please see attached schedule of events for times and locations. Passport Event!!! |
| Kinetic Sculpture Display at Malone Gallery 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The Department of Art and Design presents an amazing kinetic sculpture installation by artist—John Powers. The work of John Powers will be on display in the Malone Gallery from March 26 through April 27. There will be an artist's lecture and reception on Thursday, April 5, at 4:30PM in Malone Gallery. The public is invited and attendance is free! |
| Watermelon Bust 2012 Canned Food Drive (Multi-Day Event) 9:00 AM
Watermelon Bust is Lambda Chi Alpha's nationally known event that is put on by Lambda Chi chapters to collect canned foods and monetary donations for the North American Food Drive. Each day till Friday, we will have a table set up till 5pm in TC. On Friday, we will have a table set up till 2:45pm. Each day we will be collecting cans, monetary donations, and selling tickets for our three nights of fun filled band parties! Thursday night we will have US Band, Friday night-Hunter Lawley Band, and Saturday night to close out the week we will have the band called PHIVE. We invite everyone out to have a great time and give you a time to enjoy yourself listening to some awesome bands! Hope to see you all out!! |

JOIN US FOR OUR BLOOD DRIVE ! A blood donation truly is a “gift of life” that a healthy individual can give to others in their community who are sick or injured. In one hour’s time, a person can donate one unit of blood that can be separated into four individual components that could help save multiple lives. |
| "These Hands Don't Hurt" 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Please join the SAVE Project for their annual "These Hands Don't Hurt" campaign on Wednesday, April 18th , from 10-2 on the Bibb Graves Quad. The entire campus community is encouraged to come out and take a stand against violence by placing their hand print on our banner. Each hand print is a powerful representation of all the people who pledge to never commit, condone, or remain silent about violence against women. |
| Hunger is No Game 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Did you know that 28% of families in Pike Co. have a food hardship? Together with your student organization or team of friends, join us in addressing the hunger needs of our community as Troy University mobilizes against hunger. Our goal is to collect 2800 can goods, or 100 cans for every 1% who suffer a food hardship.
Attached is the form detailing what each organization or group needs to do in order to enter into the Can Castle contest that will be held on April 18th. |
| Hunger is No Game Can Castle Contest 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
1.Get your team together
2.Register by e-mailing Jonathan Cellon (jcellon@troy.edu), Coordinator of Service Learning & Civic Engagement, by Monday, April 16th.
3.Gather your cans (100 can minimum to participate) and get your strategy together
4.Report with your team to the Quad on Wednesday, April 18th at 12:00 PM. You’ll have an hour to build your castle.
5.Judging will begin at 1:00 PM by our VIP Panel
6.Winners will be announced at 1:30 PM. Cash prizes will be donated in the winning organizations’ name to the Salvation Army for the following categories: $100 will be awarded to the BEST CASTLE, $50 for the RUNNER UP, and $50 for the organization that collected the MOST CANS.
7.Leave your Can Castle with us. We will donate all cans to the Salvation Army of Pike Co.
