Event Image Register for Step for Life
11:00 PM - 11:30 PM

The TROY UNIVERSITY chapters of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma will be hosting the 11th annual Step for Life step show. This event, in memory of Brother Steven Dobarzynski, will be held at TROY UNIVERSITY in Sartain Hall at 6:00 p.m. on April 21st, 2012. “Dobar” as he was called by his close friends, was recovering from a bone marrow transplant associated with leukemia. Sadly, on Monday, March 25, 2002, he lost his battle due to health complications. Dobar survived the leukemia, but the complications involved in his recovery were too great for him to overcome. Few bone marrow transplant recipients survive the recurring complications that Dobar had to endure, and his spirit is an inspiration to us all. This event serves as an opportunity for our organizations to raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Although we did not know Dobar very long, we are grateful and fortunate for the time we spent with him. His unswerving character is to be commended and honored. Step for Life also awards a scholarship, in Dobar’s memory, to an outstanding student of the John M. Long School of Music, who exemplifies leadership, scholarship, and musical excellence.
