Registration for Leadership Conference


Troy University and the City of Troy are sponsoring the Leadership Conference Celebrating African American History Month on February 3 and 4th, 2012.  We are excited to announce our two keynote speakers: Dr. Randell Pinkert, 4 season winner of The Apprentice an Rev. Dr. Raphael Warnock, Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist, Atlanta, GA.  Biographies of both men can be found on the Leadership Conference website by clicking on their pictures.  We hope that everyone will consider attending the conference and that each department will consider sponsoring a faculty/staff member to attend. Cost of the conference is $30.00 per person and $15.00 per Troy University Student.  Faculty Advisors of student organizations we hope your organization will consider sponsoring a student to attend.  .  Registering is fast and easy!

Mitchell-McPherson Lecture in Southern History

“Freedom Riders: 1961 and the Struggle for Racial Justice.” Presented by Dr. Raymond O. Arsenault, Thursday, January 26, 2012, at 5:00 pm in the Claudia Crosby Theater. The History Department and Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society warmly invite you to the annual McPherson-Mitchell Lecture in Southern History on January 26, 2012. The lecture and following light reception will take place in the Claudia Crosby Theater at 5:00 pm. Our speaker this year is Dr. Raymond O. Arsenault, John Hope Franklin Professor of Southern History at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. Professor Arsenault will be presenting “Freedom Riders: 1961 and the Struggle for Racial Justice,” a talk drawn from his recent book of the same name. The lecture is open to all Troy University faculty, staff, and students and their guests.
