THEN AND NOW —THANKSGIVING FEASTS : Chef Walter Staib on Colonial Thanksgiving Traditions
Start Date: 11/14/2013Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 11/14/2013End Time: 2:00 PM

Event Description:
What was served at a colonial Philadelphia Thanksgiving feast? Join restaurateur, author and television personality Chef Walter Staib of Philadelphia’s famed City Tavern to find out. Chef Staib is the host of the Emmy Award- winning PBS series, A Taste of History, which brings American history to life through culinary traditions. Staib’s more than four decades of culinary experience have garnered numerous awards—among them the presti- gious Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole de la République Français. We also ask you, our audience, to bring recipes and pictures of your family’s special Thanksgiving dish for display during the program. Afterward, you may donate your materials to the Libraries’ Special Collections Research Center to build an archival collection documenting this great American tradition.
