Second Annual Green Initiative Awards

Temple University’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management will host the Second Annual Green Initiatives Awards, hosted by CNBC’s Tyler Mathisen, co-anchor of Power Lunch and Nightly Business Report. A lively discussion on maintaining the “Triple Bottom Line” will feature top executives who will discuss the ways their companies demonstrate commitment to adopting and promoting corporate sustainability practices that serve the community while boosting the corporate bottom line. Two companies that were chosen to be honored. Reed Smith will be recognized for their leadership in implementing environmental responsibility into their global corporate policy. From recycling and waste reduction, to energy efficiency, Reed Smith has been a trailblazer in sustainable and ecologically friendly practices. TD Bank will also be recognized for their initiatives in utilizing renewable energy to power ATM’s, opening over sixty LEED certified stores and offices and their continued commitment to paper-saving methods are leading the way in sustainability practices. Ace Group and Brandywine Realty will also be recognized for sharing their innovative and sustainable practices. An on-site vendor exhibition will showcase products and technologies that have lifted profitability for businesses even as they reduce carbon emissions, waste and pollution. A new “Disruptive Innovation” award category will be added to this year’s event to honor a company whose new product offerings and technologies disrupt and displace the current market and its offerings, specifically with a sustainable focus.
