Are you butting heads with a Boomer? Exasperated by GenXers? Nexters got your number? Welcome to our 21st century university. At no time in our history has there been such cross-generational diversity on campus. Today, cross-generational faculty, staff and students, who have histories and values that are noticeably different, must learn and work together. Generational Diversity on Campus impacts recruiting, retaining, managing and motivating the best and brightest faculty, staff, students; teamwork, conflict management, stress reduction, problem solving, creativity; customer service …and just about everything we do. This program will provide faculty and staff with an opportunity to discuss generational differences and how to overcome the misunderstandings and clashes those differences may cause when we interact across generational lines and as we provide service. This seminar falls under the following competencies: Core — Clear Communication, Client/Customer Service Orientation, Interpersonal Skills and Respect and Valuing Diversity; Role-Related — Developing Self. |
