Event Description The School of Communications and Theater will welcome Margot Morrell, the bestselling author of Shackleton’s Way: Leadership Lessons from the Great Antarctic Explorer, as the featured speaker at the 2010 Martel Leadership Lecture. Shackleton’s heroic tale of successfully leading a team through grueling hardships inspired Morrell to embark on a research journey that spanned 15 years and five continents in search of the secrets of his people-centered leadership style. Countless hours seeking out primary source material and transcribing handwritten diaries from his fabled “Endurance” expedition resulted in a book packed with inspiring and practical lessons for business and for life. The School of Communications and Theater is grateful to Martel & Associates and Myles Martel for establishing this lecture series to benefit its students and to encourage an ongoing dialogue about leadership communication. |
