Event Description
Structural engineering is often considered as much an art as a science and with today’s ubiquitous use of computer-based technologies in all aspects of structural engineering, it is easy to lose sight of the art that has historically been an integral part of structural engineering profession. This art is evident in many of the great structures of the world. This lecture will explore how natural facts have influenced the art of structural engineering design for centuries and how to integrate these into today’s computer based and technology driven profession. |
