Event Description
The Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Education is sponsoring a special one-day seminar focusing on the development of effective grant proposals. This widely acclaimed seminar, held at many major research universities, addresses both practical and conceptual aspects that are important to the grant proposal-writing process. Emphasis is given to idea development; identification of the most appropriate granting agency; how to write for reviewers; and tips and strategies that are of proven value in presenting an applicant's case to reviewers. As the emphasis is on the principles and fundamentals of good proposal writing, the seminar is applicable across scientific disciplines.

Coffee and refreshments, and a light lunch will be provided.
