Event Description The Exploring the Cities series concludes with a screening of the 1963 film, Form, Design and the City.
The film analyzes factors that produce excellent city planning by focusing on the genesis of Penn Center, Philadelphia's project to remove urban blight from its inner city. It also traces the development of the master plan which sought to integrate commercial and residential areas with adequate transportation facilities, parks and historical sites to create a practical and aesthetically pleasing urban environment and includes interviews with architects and city officials. |
