Learning to Teach without Fear: Embracing Diversity through Constructive Conflict
Start Date: 4/18/2012Start Time: 4:00 PM
End Date: 4/18/2012End Time: 5:30 PM

Event Description
University faculty are often beset by various challenges of teaching students who differ from their social identities, including race, gender, sexual orientation, class, ability and religion. Many faculty recognize the value in allowing the classroom to be a space for the discussion of controversial societal topics but are uncomfortable managing the resulting conflicts. This workshop is designed to introduce staff to an innovative approach to facilitating classroom dialogues around diversity called Transformational Social Therapy (TST).
