Education Under Fire: A Screening and Conversation
Start Date: 4/17/2012Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Date: 4/17/2012End Time: 9:00 PM

Event Description
"Education Under Fire" is an important human rights campaign that is sweeping the country. It has the full support of Amnesty International and it deals with the Iranian government's denial of the right to higher education for the past thirty years for all of the members of its largest non-Muslim religious minority - the Baha'is. This is a violation of Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The campaign has produced a powerful 30-minute documentary and secured an open letter addressed to the international academic community co-authored by Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Archbishop Desmond Tutu
and President Jose Ramos-Horta of East Timor.
