End Date: 4/12/2013End Time: 1:30 PM

Event Description
Join guest speaker Scott Quitel, Principal Ecologist, Applied Ecological Services, as he presents “Using Ecology as an Organizing Principle in Design.” Scott Quitel has an extensive and diversified background that brings together ecology, arboriculture, law, business and urban planning. His involvement with stream and marsh restoration projects has been augmented by tree surveys, vegetation inventories, reforestation and urban planning experience. He has worked on wetland monitoring and field investigations of soils and hydrogeology. Quitel has a thorough understanding through these experiences of the ecology of the northeastern forest / piedmont region and Atlantic coastal plain environment. With a Juris Doctor and an MBA, combined with his participation in the Whitemarsh Township Environmental Advisory Board and Shade Tree Commission, Quitel has a broad background in the legal, business, and policy aspects of ecological and environmental management. This work has included meetings with state agencies, municipal leaders, and other stakeholders in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Scott Quitel’s lecture, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Sustainability Lecture Series sponsored by the Ambler Campus Student Government Association Sustainability Committee and the Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Association. Refreshments will be served.
