Event Description
The Liar by David Ives, adapted from the comedy by Pierre Corneille. Directed by Douglas C. Wager. When he becomes smitten with the beguiling beauty Clarice whom he haplessly mistakes for her best friend, the young gallant Dorante's tumbling lies in pursuit of love launches an avalanche of comic confusion that engulfs servants, friends and lovers. Playwright Ives hijacks the classic comic genius of 17th century French master Pierre Corneille, rhymed couplets and all, and whips a witty confection of romantic deceit and deception.
