Event Description
Talal Asad is one of the most important cultural anthropologists in the world. Asad received his education at Edinburgh and Oxford and is currently a distinguished professor at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Asad’s work has influenced the way scholars in many different fields think about power, pain, religious revivals and secularism. This event is co-sponsored by the General Education Program. The scholar’s conversation will be followed by a reception.
