Event Description How can our classrooms connect academic content to real-life community work that promotes critical reflection and transformational learning? How can our teaching and research create a community-engaged campus that is responsive to the needs of our local and global setting? Community-based learning (sometimes called service-learning) integrates community service into coursework and research, benefiting faculty and students as well as benefiting community partners and the neighborhoods they serve. Learn more about the potential of this instructional strategy, the foundational elements of a successful community-based learning course, and the experiences of Temple faculty who have developed significant community-based learning programs. |
