Event Description Lew Klein has served the School of Communications and Theater as an adjunct professor for more than five decades. A seasoned professional who produced such landmark television programs as American Bandstand, Klein is respected by the Temple community and media professionals as a master teacher and wise mentor. Named in his honor, the Lew Klein Alumni in the Media and Excellence in the Media Awards were established through the generosity of H.F. (Gerry) and Marguerite Lenfest and Walter and Leonore Annenberg through the Annenberg Foundation. This year, we honor Robin Roberts of Good Morning America with the Excellence in the Media Award. Additionally, these five alumni will receive the Alumni in the Media Award: Tamron Hall, ‘92, anchor, MSNBC; Alan Ross Kosher, ‘69, company manager, Disney’s The Lion King; J Russell Peltz, ‘68, boxing promoter, Peltz Boxing; Harvey Pollack, ‘43, director of statistical information, Philadelphia 76ers; Mike Strug, ‘64, reporter, retired, NBC10 |
