Event Description Come see what's new in flow cytometry from Molecular Probes®.
Presented by: Michael W. Olszowy, Ph.D., Life Technologies Cytometry Division Eugene, Oregon USA
The seminar includes the latest Molecular Probes® reagents and assays from Life Technologies for flow cytometry – taking significant steps forward in the analysis of cellular function. Newer cell cycle analysis and proliferation reagents for the violet, blue, and red lasers, are less toxic and can be used to see stem cells using side population analysis. The Click-iT™ EdU assay, our new dead cell stains and, SYTOX® AADvanced for cell cycle analysis are highlighted along with new fixable dead cell dyes for use when performing intracellular staining. Our new apoptosis membrane asymmetry probe delivers similar information as annexin V but can be used effectively with adherent cells that have been trypsinized. CellTrace™ Violet uses the same chemistry as CFSE, but is a violet laser dye – now GFP expression and cell tracing can be done at the same time. Our novel phagocytosis assay allows for the simple, rapid and unambiguous measurement of fully functional phagocytic activity. A review of antibody labeling techniques is also presented. Finally, the latest updates on the benefits of acoustic focusing in the Attune® cytometer is presented.
