Chattooga River: A Natural and Cultural History

Event Description:
"Paddle faster! I hear banjo music!" The movie "Deliverance" made the Chattooga River famous but there is more to this Southern treasure than how it was depicted by Hollywood. The Chattooga provides recreational opportunities to rafters, anglers and hikers. It also boast one of the highest levels of biodiversity in the country providing a home to countless species of wildlife. Join us on Monday, October 28th from 1:20-2:20 in Marshall Parker Auditorium as author Laura Ann Garren discusses her book "The Chattooga River: A Natural and Cultural History". Ms. Garren is a graduate of Clemson University earning a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Wildlife Biology, and a Master's in English with a concentration in Environmental Literature. Sponsored by the Enrichment Series Committee.
