Event Description Dying of Thirst: The Impact of Drought on Marine Life We all know how drought affects land animals but what about the ones who call the water their home? How do they manage to survive? Join us on Monday, November 12th from 1:20pm to 2:20pm in the Marshall Parker Auditorium as Dr. Michael Childress discusses how marine life is being impacted by the drought. Dr. Childress is an Associate Professor at Clemson University in the Department of Biological Sciences. He has been studying the evolution of social systems for over 25 years and has conducted field work in Yellowstone National Park and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. His current research seeks to understand the importance of behavioral variability in the success of commercially important crustaceans such as blue crabs, lobsters and crayfish. Sponsored by the Enrichment Series Committee. |
