Hurricane Sandy Symposium

Event Description:
This symposium will continue the discussion between academic and local communities of Long Island on the impacts of natural disasters, like Hurricane Sandy. We seek to examine issues such as the post-storm impacts (what have we learned), hazard preparation and avoidance, what can be expected in future events, and some of the political and legal issues central to the discussion. The format will include talks from distinguished guest speakers and an open discussion from a panel forum. Sponsored by the Sustainability Studies Program, School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, Department of Geosciences, and the Provost Lecture Series.
