Anti-Bullying and Hate Crime Prevention

Event Description:
The Division of Campus Residences, The Office of Diversity and Affirmative Action, Diversity Peer Education, and LASO are pleased to host Joselo Lucero, the Community Outreach Coordinator from the Hagedorn Foundation, for a campus address.

Mr. Lucero became an advocate for immigrant rights after his brother, Marcelo Lucero, was murdered in a brutal hate crime in 2008 in Patchogue, NY. His talk, Anti-Bullying and Hate Crime Prevention, will focus on his Light Through My Eyes and Embrace Our Differences programs that he organizes for middle, high school, and college students, teachers, and administrators on Long Island and the NY metro region.
