The Black Body in Literature, Media, and the Arts

This one-day symposium will examine how the Black body is presented in literature, media, and the Arts. Several panel presentations will take place.

Session I (10:00 am-11:20 am): Race and Representation in Film and Literature

Session II (11:40 am-1:10 pm): Race and Representation in the Arts

Roundtable Discussion (2:40 pm-3:40 pm)

Provost Lecture Series speaker Deborah Willis at 4:00 pm, Wang Center Theater

Hosted by the Department of Africana Studies. Sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, The Humanities Institute, Department of Cultural Analysis and Theory, and the Department of European Languages.
