Event Description
Black In Latin America is a series created by world-renowned Henry Louis Gates, Jr., an American literary critic, educator, scholar, writer, editor, and public intellectual. In this documentary, Gates is seeking to explore the experience of Afro-descendants in various Latin American countries. The Office of Diversity and Affirmative Action is offering the opportunity to view portions of the series and discuss some of the themes that Gates explores in this docu-series with regard to racism, visibility and denial related to the Black Diaspora in Latin America.
