Annual Festival of Lights Program

Event Description:
The Festival of Lights is an intercultural program that celebrates the diversity of religions through the many celebrations that occur during the Holiday Season. The program highlights various faiths, including Christmas/Advent/Three Kings Day (Christian), Hanukah (Jewish), Ramadan/Eid-ul Fitr/Eid-Adha (Muslim), Diwali (Hindu), Bandhi Chhor Divas (Sikh), and Kwanzaa (African American). Featuring holiday displays and ethnic food samplings.

Participants can make a variety of holiday crafts as part of the Festival’s “Make It, Take It” activities. The Festival program will be presented from a main stage, were several presentations and cultural performances in song, dance, music, or poetry will be made. Musical performances from the Stony Brook Ringers and SB Live! will round out the event.
