1:15 pm: Mildred Dresselhaus Lecture with Q&A session

Keynote Speaker: "Queen of Carbon" Mildred Dresselhaus, Emerita Professor at MIT in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Physics 

Mildred Dresselhaus has made pioneering discoveries in the field of carbon science, which has paved the way for the rise of nanotechnology. Winner of the National Medal of Science, the Enrico Fermi Award, and most recently, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, she has been recognized as one of the most prominent scientists in the nation. She is known as a role model and strong advocate for underrepresented women in the sciences. Professor Dresselhaus will lecture on her exciting experience with research and provide a personal perspective of her esteemed scientific career.
