Presentation by Michelina Di Cesare (University of Rome, Sapienza/University of Naples L’Orientale) on the topic: The Liber Scale and Fourteenth Century Italian Cartography: The Reception of Muhammad’s Night Journey in the Pizigano Map.

This presentation is part of a series of lectures organized by Visiting Professor, Fernando Loffredo for the Center for Italian Studies entitled: Italy Across the Mediterranean: Politics, Space and Visual Culture from the Middle Ages to Early Modernity.

Offered in collaboration with The Humanities Institute and with support of the Departments of Art and Hispanic Languages.
