Panel discussion with Malcolm Bowman, Professor of Physical Oceanography; Evelyn
J. Bromet, Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry; Heidi Hutner, Assoc. Professor
of English and Sustainability; James Klurfeld, Visiting Professor in the School
of Journalism; Jonathan Edward Schell, author and Visiting Fellow at Yale and
Christopher Williams, Environmental Activist, NYC.
The recent tsunami in Japan has sharpened awareness of the vulnerability of highly developed societies to natural and human catastrophes. In a world of increasing population, industrialization, and the burning of fossil fuels at unprecedented rates, this panel of experts will discuss issues related to the dangers of nuclear power and the need to find alternate sources of energy.
