Technology, Entertainment and Design Conference: TEDxSBU: Our Beat
Start Date: 10/10/2013Start Time: 9:00 AM
End Date: 10/10/2013End Time: 7:30 PM

Event Description:
At a TEDx event, video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. There is a natural synergy between TED's mission of "ideas worth spreading" and what we do at SBU every day. It's another opportunity to showcase the talent we have among our faculty, students and staff and to raise the level of discourse both on campus and around the world. We're confident that we'll be able to contribute to the intellectual capital that TED represents globally and that our community will embrace the learning opportunities.

Stony Brook will be streaming the event live and WUSB 90.1 FM radio station will broadcast the event throughout the day.

Members of the community are welcome to gather and watch the event in the multi-purpose room of the Center for Leadership and Service, located in H Quad's Benedict College. The Brook Alumni Room, located on the fourth floor of the Wang Center, will also be showing the event, beginning at 11:00 am.

The Beat One (9:00 am-2:00 pm) line up:

Lauren Hale, Kent Gustavson, Neha Kinariwalla, Ken Dill, Joanna Kaczorowska, Ruchi Shah, Hannes Baumann, Fikri Birey and Howard Scheinder.  Lunch will be served.

The Beat Two (2:15 pm-7:30 pm) line up:
Rich Fantasia, Daniel Menaker, Arianna Warner, Mitchell Fourman, Nobuho Nagasawa, Fred Ferguson, David Ecker, Paul Bingham, Joanne Souza, and Alberto Perez.  Break time snacks and Evening Reception will be served.
