| Converging Science Summit: Call for Abstracts |

Event Description Stony Brook University Medical Center and the Stony Brook University School of Nursing invite you to submit abstracts for the 1st Annual Stony Brook Converging Science Summit, Stony Brook, New York, Monday, October 24, 2011.
The goal of the Summit is knowledge sharing and transformative science. Our mission is collaborative scientific thought aimed to enlighten, enhance and explore the human experience in a collective view of health by merging the healing arts and sciences. We seek to interpret, share experiences, cultivate collaborative research and realign our challenges in the art and science of translational research.
The 2011 Summit will explore value-based patient care, quality outcomes and evidence-based practice/informatics.
You are invited to submit abstracts for oral and/or poster presentations related to “Evidence Based Practice during Healthcare Reform.” Topics of interest include but are not limited to systems and supports related to healthcare outcomes, macro and micro systems change, policy analysis, economics, informatics, ethics, healthcare interventions, the healing arts, and quality and safety initiatives. Submission of abstracts reporting the intersection of sciences is encouraged (e.g. dentistry and nursing, biomedical engineering and physical therapy, social work and preventive medicine, health education/behavior, health economics and policy, nursing and community health science).
