End Date: 3/13/2010End Time: 3:00 PM
Event Description
The purpose of the Health Fair is to provide individuals with limited resources with health care screenings, health literacy sensitive educational materials and information about health resources in the community. We will be providing free health screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, HIV, dental, and depression as well as educational materials regarding topics such as mental health, nutrition/diet, disease management, first aid, community health resources and much more. In addition, we will be providing assistance with Medicaid enrollment. We will also plan on having representatives from various community organizations at the health fair to provide people with information regarding their services. Spanish translators will be on hand to help facilitate all of these services. Before leaving the health fair, each person will also get the opportunity to review the results of their screening tests with a physician from the Stony Brook University Medical Center.
