At a time when issues of sustainability and environmentalism are increasingly the focus of public attention (and often controversy), Recycling and Reincarnation: Exhibition of Public Art, Image Communication and Industrial Design features works from artists affiliated with East China Normal University in Shanghai, PRC. Recycling and Reincarnation explores the connections of recycling as an environmental or industrial practice with cyclicality of life, spirit, and history. Some works are artistic reflections or meditations on these themes, while others imagine creative sustainable technology.
