Event Description As part of the Bornstein Leadership Series, Ken Melrose (President of Leading by Serving, LLC and retired CEO and Chairman of The Toro Company) will speak on the subject of Servant Leadership in a publically-held corporation (The Toro Company), which was introduced during a near bankruptcy period when he was called to take over the leadership at Toro in 1981. He will cover the period of building a new set of values, leadership principles, and corporate culture helped formed by Steve Covey, Ken Blanchard and Tom Peters. His presentation will include some stories of how empowerment, freedom-to-fail, and trust encouraged employees to think out-of-the-box with new initiatives that led to some amazing results. |
