SummerSERVE @ Fern Creek

engagement with the local community throughout the summer months. Volunteers are invited to partner with Fern Creek Elementary School to participate in a day of service, working with teachers and students in classrooms, as well as undertaking development projects at the school.

Although not required, if you have an existing resume, bring that as well in case you have specific questions or want to make edits directly onto the page. Application Deadline: The Interactive Marketing Immersion Xperience (I-MIX)



August 4-8, 2013 | Denver, CO

The Interactive Marketing Immersion Xperience (I-MIX) is designed for rising junior and rising senior undergraduates who are considering a career in marketing. During the week-long intensive marketing program 30 students will be immersed in seminars focused on interactive marketing. The program is hosted by a leading company in the field and seminars are led by various marketing executives and a leading academic. Students will also participate in a career and resume workshop led by a premier career coach. After completing this program, participants will gain a decided edge in the marketplace.

• Week-long intensive program at the headquarters of a top company in the field

Peace Corps service is a life-defining leadership experience. Since 1961, the Peace Corps has shared with the world America's most precious resource – its people. Volunteers serve in 77 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, and the Middle East. Peace Corps Volunteers live, learn, and work with a community overseas for 27 months, providing technical assistance in six program areas: education, youth and community development, health, business and information and communications technology, agriculture, and environment.

Event Image Grassroots Event with President Barack Obama

Rollins College - Alfond Sports Center

President Barack Obama will hold a grassroots event at the Alfond Sports Center at Rollins College. Doors open around noon, and tickets are currently only available to ticket holders from the cancelled event on July 20th.

On-campus parking will be closed starting Wednesday night. Starting at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, pedestrian traffic will be permitted in front of the Alfond Sports Center for formation of lines for the event, all other areas around the Sports Center will not be accessible.

Parking will be available in the SunTrust Plaza Parking Garage or at any public parking area further north of that garage. ADA parking will be permitted closer to the venue; the check point for that is at the corner of Park and Holt avenues.

Some additional things to keep in mind if you are attending the event:

If you plan on arriving early for the event, please prepare accordingly and plan for heat. Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing. Water will be available outside, but cannot be brought inside. A water station will be set up inside the venue.

Security screenings and bag searches will take place prior to entering the venue. Coolers, umbrellas, folding chairs, etc. cannot be brought inside. They must be left outside the building at the owner’s risk.

Cameras will be allowed.

Once you are in the venue you will not be permitted to leave and re-enter the building.

Rollins College Office of Community Engagement will partner with the Callahan Neighborhood Association to work on various activities with day camp students. This initiative is also in partnership with Keep Orlando Beautiful to complete a neighborhood clean-up for the area surrounding the Callahan Neighborhood Center. This is the final SummerSERVE event of 2012! Please wear closed-toe shoes, and a Rollins or SummerSERVE t-shirt if you have one! Water will be provided, but volunteers need to bring a water bottle. Volunteers should meet in front of the Cornell Fine Arts Museum.

Although not required, if you have an existing resume, bring that as well in case you have specific questions or want to make edits directly onto the page.
