Event Description Following the process of political and economic globalization, the higher education sector is also coming under this ambit under the title of “Internationalization of Higher Education”. The paper examines the meaning of internationalization of education in the global context. Mobility and aspirations of students is the crucial factor that has pushed this process worldwide. Results of survey carried across the world have been examined as relevant to different regions of the world. The rationale, the benefits and risks of internationalization as perceived by different regions of the world have been given in the Indian context. Indian approach to Internationalization of education, still very cursory and preliminary, is described and felt that it is inadequate and not perceived in the overall perspective of global education. |
