Event Description During internationalization, organizations may ask them-selves the questions ‘Why internationalize to another country?’ ‘Should we plan for internationalization?’, and, ‘What is the best strategy for the internationalization? In addition, the success of an international venture often depends on the choice of entry mode; different entry modes have different advantages and disadvantages. Each mode requires different resources and time commitments, and entails different risks. Factors such as culture, the political and business environments and the skills of the manager in internationalizing, among other factors, have a bearing on entry mode choice. To determine the issues associated with this, the presenter conducted interviews with 40 Australian organizations that had internationalized to China. This presentation, will therefore, highlight the various motivations, planning, strategies and entry modes that Australian organizations utilize when internationalizing to China. |
