Coleman Barks: Soul-fury and Kindness: The Friendship of Rumi and Shamz Tabriz

Event Description:
The Thomas P. Johnson Distinguished Visiting Scholar Series presents poet Coleman Barks, who will read from his collaborative translations of 13th century Persian mystic poet Rumi, with accompaniment by cellist David Darling. Barks will then engage in conversation about his work and creative process with Winter Park Institute Senior Distinguished Fellow and former U.S. Poet Laureate (2001-2003) Billy Collins.

The event is open and free to the public. Parking is available in the SunTrust Garage on Lyman Avenue.
