Event Description Part of our Second Stage Series, this production is student produced; directed by Melissa Cooper, '12
An absurdist play by Eugene Ionesco set in England, two couples (The Martins and The Smiths) are socializing in a parlor. Their conversation is filled with obscure non-sequiturs, cliche phrases and meaningless metaphors. They are interrupted by the Smith's maid and a local fire chief. Ionesco demonstrates humanities yearning for connection, shared memory, and the importance placed on society and class.
This production is free and open to the public. Seating is general admission: first-come-first-served. We recommend arriving at the Fred Stone Theatre 30 minutes prior to showtime. |
