Exploring the Spirit and Values of Craft: A Gathering of Makers
Start Date: 2/26/2014Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Date: 2/26/2014End Time: 8:00 PM

Event Description:
Michael Schwalbe’s most recent project, A View to the Making: Portraits of North Carolina Craft Artists at Work, is on display at the Crafts Center …come see! In “documenting the skill that artists and artisans bring to bear on their work,” it is Michael’s “hope the resulting exhibition of images and interview excerpts will inspire fascination with the skill and creativity required to turn raw material into beautiful objects.”

In conjunction with Michael’s celebration of making, the Crafts Center invites you to this evening of fellowship in art. Our panel of makers will include: metalsmith Mary Ann Scherr, potter Julie Olson, woodturner Bill Wallace, and NC State student crafter Anne McLean. They will open the evening by sharing their personal journeys to the making of craft. Along with hearing the thoughts of our panelists, we look forward to having you join in and share your own stories of making.

See the Crafts Center website for more information, map & directions.
