Event Description The African American Cultural Center at North Carolina State University will present "An Evening with Iyanla Vanzant, Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King" on Monday January 14, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McKimmon Center. The event is part of the NC State celebration of the legacy Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. |

Admission Information: Admission to the event for the general public is $10. Students, faculty and staff will be able to receive one free ticket on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are available from Ticket Central at the Talley Student Center, 919-515-1100. |
Other Details: Several of Iyanla Vanzant’s books, including her most recent one, "Peace from Broken Pieces," will be available for purchase following her presentation. She will be available to sign books following her lecture |
Remarks: Dr. Sheila Smith McKoy, director of the African American Cultural Center notes that: “Vanzant has dedicated her life to showing her audiences how to embrace personal and societal peace. She is an ideal presenter for our campus Martin Luther King Commemoration because she has been able to affirm the social and personal justice ideals for which we remember Dr. King.” |
