Event Description The Paul Zia Distinguished Lecture Series in Civil Engineering and Construction welcomes the engineers behind the spectacular Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge in the southwestern US to the McKimmon Center on September 20. The event will include seminars and workshops with the three speakers in the morning and then the Zia Distinguished Lecture, presented by the project's chief bridge engineer, David Goodyear, at 3 p.m. The Paul Zia Distinguished Lecture Series was established in 2002 to honor the accomplishments of Dr. Paul Zia, Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at NC State. Dr. Zia is a leading figure in the fields of concrete and structural engineering and served as head of the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at NC State for nine years. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. |
