Event Description iTunesU is a no-cost educational initiative by Apple to provide resources for the publication and delivery of digital materials for educational institutions and non-profit organizations. NCSU was the first public institution in North Carolina to have an iTunesU "storefront", and content at our NCSU site has grown greatly in the last year. Through iTunesU, students, faculty and the general public can both publish and download educational materials, but at the same time, content can be restricted to just those at NCSU, and even to just those students in a class. Digital media in the form of video, audio and Adobe Acrobat files are supported, at no cost. Media from iTunesU can be subscribed to and automatically downloaded as new content appears, and in turn, can be put on a mobile device such as an iPhone, iPad or iPod. This informational session will give an overview of iTunesU@NCSU, how those on campus are using iTunesU, and what the publication environment looks like. |
