I. T. Littleton Seminar
Start Date: 6/1/2012
End Date: 6/1/2012

Event Description
On June 1, 2012, Dr. Michael Eisenberg will discuss effective information literacy instructional programs as featured speaker at the NC State University Libraries' annual I. T. Littleton Seminar. Mike Eisenberg is Professor, Dean Emeritus, and Founding Dean of the Information School at the University of Washington. His life’s work is about helping people to recognize and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the information age. His talk will feature strategic recommendations based on findings from Project Information Literacy — the most extensive and ambitious set of studies about information literacy ever conducted. The seminar will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Auditorium in the West Wing of D. H. Hill Library on the North Carolina State University campus in Raleigh. The seminar will be followed by a reception in the Assembly Room in D. H. Hill Library's East Wing. The I. T. Littleton Seminar is presented by the NCSU Librarians' Association. The annual event is funded by an endowment established in 1987 to explore key issues in the development of academic libraries and to honor former Library Director Littleton upon his retirement from NC State.
