|
Event Description
NC State is getting charged up! The N.C. Solar Center, NC State and Progress Energy are hosting two ribbon cuttings to celebrate four new electric vehicle charging stations on campus. Attendees will hear from an array of speakers associated with the charging stations at the McKimmon Center and at the E. Carroll Joyner Visitor Center during the ribbon-cutting ceremonies.
The McKimmon Center ribbon-cutting will begin at 10 a.m. A ribbon-cutting for charging stations at the Joyner Visitor Center (1210 Varsity Drive, Raleigh) will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Successful entry of electric vehicles into the U.S. market represents a tremendous step forward in reducing the significance of petroleum in the transportation sector. Public charging stations at places like NC State not only represent a very real resource to faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors, they also signify the university's commitment to creating a sustainable future. |
