University Theatre presents An Inspector Calls |
|
Event Description:
An Inspector Calls
by J. B. Priestly
Wed-Sun Feb 13-17, 20-24, Titmus Theatre
(7:30 Wed-Sat, 2pm Sun)
In an English industrial city in 1912, the eminently respectable Birling family is celebrating their daughter’s engagement when a doorbell interrupts the family festivities. It is an inspector who says he is investigating the suicide of a young woman who worked at the Birling’s factory until she was fired for leading a strike for better pay. What starts as an evening of celebration in a close-knit family increasingly deteriorates as the inspector interrogates and implicates each member of the group. But after the inspector departs, it is revealed that he is not who he said he was, and the mystery deepens. What kind of hoax is tearing this family apart? An engaging psychological thriller.
