Event Description
AIRPORT 77 (1977) - FREE
Flight 23 has crashed in the Bermuda Triangle…passengers still alive, trapped underwater… Perhaps needless to say, most of the survivors are major movie stars: Jack Lemmon, Joseph Cotton, Olivia de Havilland, James Stewart, Christopher Lee. The disaster cycle would continue past 1977, but Jerry Jameson’s installment (the third and most Poseidonesque of four “Airport” films) marked the tail-end of a cinematic trend.
Part of the Film Studies Disaster Series. Introduction by Professor Marsha Orgeron.
Not Rated, running time 114 minutes, DVD.
