Event Description
For more than 20 years, Professor Nielsen has taught a one-day short-course on communication skills to professionals in the U.S. Forest Service. He has concentrated that course into a two-hour block addressing the needs of graduate students and postdocs, focusing on speaking skills. Specific topics covered include general principles, choosing the content and style, organizing for optimum impact, practicing before a presentation, performing at your best, and preparing effective visual aids. Come learn the tools of the trade from an accomplished public speaker.
