Hump Day Hustle - now on the Eastman Campus!

Your MGA Health Clinic is pleased to announce that the weekly Hump Day Hustle has expanded to also take place in Eastman! Meet in the Main Lobby for a no-one-left-behind paced walk on campus, lasting no more than an hour. You are free to walk as little or for as long as you like, but don't be shy - join the fun!

Approximately 40% of youth experiencing homelessness identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT), yet LGBT young people make up less than 7% of the general youth population.  April 26 is #40toNoneDAy, a national day to raise public awareness about LGBT youth homelessness.  Students can help spread the word about #40toNoneDay by snapping a photo with one of our "unselfie" signs and sharing it online on April 26.

Why not try “Shut up & Write” ?

What is “Shut Up & Write”?

“Shut up & Write” meet-ups have been taking place all over the country.  These are informal writing communities to help you skip the procrastination and get some words on the page.  

When:  Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday (barring holidays)
What time: 11 AM-2PM
Where: Macon Campus Library, 2nd Floor, Conference Room

Bring your laptop.  Bring your research materials. Get help with Interlibrary Loan and most important of all WRITE.  Light refreshments will be provided.

The Health Clinics wants to help you start the New Year off on the right track! Students/faculty/staff are invited to join us for a "no one left behind" paced walk each Wednesday, beginning at 12:45. Macon campus meet on the sidewalk in front of the Wellness Center, and Cochran campus meets in the Wellness Center. The Health Services Department and the Psychology Department are collaborating on research to investigate beliefs and attitudes toward advance directives in college-aged students. The Psychology Department designed and created a psychological testing instrument to measure the respondents' attitudes and beliefs. The Health Services Department conducted background research and assisted in implementation of the pilot testing that took place on all MGA campuses. Students will present results from these assessments with a look toward future developments in both the instrument and the study.

MAU will show movie Mother of George which highlights the difficulties surrounding a young Nigerian couple who have problems conceiving a child.  The young wife is influenced by her mother-in-law to make a decision that has rippling effects on the marriage and the family at large.
